Disable The Label
The Theory and Practice of Recovery seeks to provide a greater understanding or how things like shame, trauma, arrested development and genetic predisposition can create barriers to recovery for the person living with an addiction and how things as simple as language and opinions can create barriers for people that are trying to assist those living with an addiction. This presentation is deeply rooted in the concepts of person first language and trauma informed care.
